Galaw-galaw

So ganun na nga... hirap pala pag 3 ang blog, hirap i-maintain nyahahaha... Anyways, after what happened to May (may her soul rest in peace), the blogger who recently died because of overstressed from work, *kaya galaw-galaw lng, take a break* I thought of updating all my blogs whenever, however, whatever.  I want to be remembered somehow pag nasa dako paroon na ko papunta sa may liwanag *well sana nga sa liwanag ahihihi*

Syempre I was also inspired by Tales blog na kayang talunin ang blog ni Chona Mae  ahihihi

And it goes a little something like this...

"Aaminin ko na puso koy nabighani mo nga

Di na ko magpapasikot sikot pa

ngiti koy isisiwalat na

Mata koy titigan upang iyong mapatunayan

tunay kong nararamdaman

Aabangan muli mong pagdaan,

upang sulyap moy mamataan

Hanggang sa ating mga matay magkatitigan.

Upang mga ngiti moy muling masilayan."

*Imagine that*

It took me almost 5 years before I finally decided to apply for permanent residency here in Singapore. Well there's this one main thing that gave me second thoughts in applying, the CPF contribution *parang SSS po ito*, which is 33% of the basic salary from 3rd yr onwards. This year was my second year being a PR (Permanent Resident), which entails a 24% contribution, in which the employer shoulders the 9% that leaves me a deduction of 15% in my salary. Though I'm convincing myself that all those money plus interest will be mine when I finally decide to give up being a PR, it is still a struggle come payday. With all the monthly bills, payables, remittance and allowance, the budget seems so tight. Yes, even us overseas workers work on a tight budget, though I admit we have the luxury to buy whatever feeds our fancy out of impulsiveness. *because for everything else there's mastercard LOL* Well blame it on the PC and IT shows, the Great Singapore Sale, the holiday sales, warehouse sales and the unending moving away/renovation sales and all other sales they can think of all year round hehehe. And what's with the increased GST? *VAT po katumbas nun sa Pinas* And come June I know IRAS will already start releasing the tax assessment, argh! *buti na lng pede GIRO* Anyway, towards the end of this year will be the start of my 3rd year as a PR which means 20% of my basic salary will be deducted from me, imagine that! *ayun maisingit lng harharhar*

Digital Photo Frame

I really don't want to go to the IT Show coz I know I'll just drool over the latest gadgets in town.  I have nothing to buy and no money to spend plus I'm controlling my credit card usage.  Since my friends were eager to go with the crowd  *naghahanap ng sakit ng katawan hehehe* and find the best bargain for digital camera so I tagged along.  As expected everyone seems to be heading in that direction, the walk along CityLink Mall was already jammed and so was the overpass going to the Suntec Convention Center.

What really caught my attention in the IT Show was the digital photo frame.  It's just like a small LCD made to look like a photo frame where you can load photos, slideshows, mp3 and even videos.  Isn't it fun to display your digital photos, then change every few seconds with background music? I can just imagine how great it would look in our living room back home.   But the frame didn't come cheap, it's ranging from $180 - $200++ for a mere 4R sized photo frame.   It's way too cool that I almost thought of buying one.  But  I managed to get hold of myself and just let my impulsiveness come to pass. *whew*

After going to the IT Show *twice*, I only managed to buy myself a sudoku handheld game (2 for $10) and 25pcs DVD-R.  I'm so proud of myself!

Lesson learned

I've been tasked to do some major modifications in a design document.  Since it's company policy not to copy any sensitive document to our local drive, I just made another copy on the same server to do my changes.  Yesterday morning I opened the document as usual and started doing my changes.  I clicked on  the save icon every once in a while to make sure my changes are saved.  At past 7pm as I was about to leave and almost gave myself a pat on the back for finishing the changes, something bizarre happened.  When I tried closing the document I got a message prompt to save my changes which is weird since I've been clicking the save button ever since. Whenever I try to save, the same prompt appears.  So I just cancelled and clicked on the save icon again, saved as usual (I thought) and no message prompt whatsoever.  But when I closed it again the message prompt was displayed again.  Since I was annoyed by the message and I'm eager to go home I just proceeded to close the document without saving.  In my mind I thought if there are changes I haven't saved since my last save, it would be minimal.  But I was wrong, I felt like crying when I opened the document again and found out all my changes for the day were gone.  I looked at the last modified date and it's still dated last Friday.   After a while I figured out what happened.  The #%^@#!*%^# server has no more space!  All along my changes were only saved in the memory, stupid MS Word, it should at least prompted some error when I click on the save icon. Another weird thing is I only attempted to close the file as I finished it, it's quite normal right?  or is it just me?

Gumagana pa ba yun?

Ntbk Finally I was able to pack the Jolly-B box  *uy plugging* which I bought a few months back.  I'm so proud of myself!  Kaw ba naman kumuha ng super up-sized tignan ko lng kun d ka mapraning sa pag-aayos hehehe.  I was able to put in all my abubots *which my butihing ina would describe as basura hehehe*, some old clothes, books, new toys  and clothes and other gifts for the coming holidays and most importantly I was able to put in my most treasured Lexmark scanner&printer and my antigong notebook.  These two gadgets have been my most treasured possessions since I started scrapbooking, I guess hundreds of pictures have been scrapped with the use of these.  I'll surely miss them but I know they will be in good hands,  my father's! He was so excited when I told him about it, he's been eyeing my notebook since last year and even told me to buy a new one for myself.  I told him to wait and now the waiting is over!  Pero eto ang kontrabida, "Gumagana pa ba yun?" That was my dear mother as she was able to see last year that my notebook have spoiled battery and keyboard.  Maybe if she knew more about technology and had known that my notebook have only a CDR drive  (not even CDRW), no infrared, no firewire, no bluetooth and USB 1 only cguro abot-abot ang panlalait nya hahahaha *luv u Mama*

Jologs *da return*

If not for the internet access at the office, I would totally go nuts!   Oftentimes I work all by myself at the icebox, peeking at my inbox every now and then and seeing the "you’ve got mail" is always a relief.   I feel glad I’m still connected to the outside world and of course who would want to miss a tsunami of emails and missed out on all the fun.  Like cich's TFD, the birit of dynamic duo's 6 and g, the chorus of wakana6, BM's and slade's quest for pinakamaasim, tab’s update on the latest sales in town and so on and so forth.  Now popoy, pre and xav are also included in the thread.   I'm so happy to see familiar names, it brings back old memories from the tambayan, and definitely the Jologs are back!
